Turku University of Applied Sciences (TUAS)


TUAS is one of the most attractive universities of applied sciences in the country.It was established in 1920. It has been state-funded since the 1970s.Turku has a long history of academia and was the site of Finland's first university, the Royal Academy of Turku, which was established in 1640 by Queen Christina of Sweden. Finland became independent in 1917 and when the University was established, after a fund-raising campaign, it was Finland's first Finnish university.

It is a multi-branch educational community of some 9500 students and 800 experts. It offer education that develops working life and entrepreneurship, research and development services (RDI) and holistic development of organisations.It is an innovative and multidisciplinary higher education institution, which creates international competitiveness and well-being for Southwest Finland. Our graduates are practice-oriented professionals with top competencies.

Turku is very welcoming to exchange students and is part of the Finish flexible study scheme which allows students enrolled at a Finnish university to complete their studies at other Finnish universities.
There are general and specific requirements for different courses. For studies at graduate level a bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study is required. For all studies in English a good level of proficiency in English is required, which may be evidenced through TOEFL, CAE/CPE, the Pearson test, IELTS or GMAT.Students apply through University Admissions Finland's website, and must register online to do so.
