Emory University is a private institution that was founded in 1836. At Emory we know that one size doesn't fit all. That's why two undergraduate liberal arts options await you here. You can choose to apply to Emory College of Arts and Sciences, four-year undergraduate division on the university's Atlanta campus, or to Oxford College, where freshmen and sophomores study at Emory's original campus 38 miles east of Atlanta.Most undergraduates complete their studies at Emory College. Alternatively, students may opt to apply as a sophomore to spend their junior and senior years pursuing degrees at these schools: Goizueta Business School or Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing.

The university offers academic degrees and programs through nine schools, including more than 70 undergraduate choices and dozens of graduate and professional specialties. The academic year is divided into two semesters, plus a summer term.Individual integrity is expected and respected here. A strong system of school-based honor codes safeguards the university's academic integrity. All students agree by their enrollment to abide by their school's honor code. Emory is one of the nation's leading research universities, building on an uncommon combination of campus-based resources and global partnerships.It has a total undergraduate enrollment of 7,829, its setting is urban, and the campus size is 630 acres. It utilizes a semester-based academic calendar. Emory University's ranking in the 2016 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 21. Its tuition and fees are $46,314 (2015-16). At this school, 73 percent of the students live in college-owned, -operated, or -affiliated housing and 27 percent of students live off campus. Emory University is part of the NCAA III athletic conference.

Emory University offers a number of student services including nonremedial tutoring, women's center, placement service, day care, health service, and health insurance. Emory University also offers campus safety and security services like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols, late night transport/escort service, 24-hour emergency telephones, lighted pathways/sidewalks, student patrols, and controlled dormitory access (key, security card, etc). Of the students at Emory University, 24 percent have cars on campus. Alcohol is permitted for students of legal age at Emory University.

The 2014 Annual Report celebrates a detailed and diverse record of extraordinary achievement. President James W. Wagner commends faculty, staff, students and alumni for their work to uphold the challenge of Atticus Haygood, the eighth president of Emory College, whose quote, "Let us stand by what is good and try to make it better," is chiseled onto the front gate of the Atlanta campus.
